Who We Are

Founded in 2015, The Braunstone Gate and West End Community is a collective of people who aim to improve the neighbourhood, celebrate local businesses, and bring people together. The group is funded by The People’s Health Trust, Ward Funding from Leicester City Council, and various local donations.

Over the past five years, The Braunstone Gate and West End Community have hosted events that promote wellbeing and diversity, celebrate art and culture and educate adults and children. More importantly, the group has provided opportunities for people to connect with neighbours, businesses and workers in and around the area.

Nearly a year later and we have dozens of regular users with thousands of books having been exchanged. Through our social media accounts, we have hosted 'Little Stock' with guest posts from local poets, musicians, children's arts practitioners and historians. Currently, we are hosting 'Little Skool' with posts from journalists, politicians, and scientists. Pop down and see for yourself!
